Image appeal following racially aggravated incident in Shaftesbury

Officers investigating a racially aggravated incident in Shaftesbury are issuing an image of a man they would like to identify.

It is reported that at around 12.50am on Sunday 16 November 2025, a man became racially abusive to a member of security staff at Shaftesbury Football Club in Coppice Street.

It was further reported that the man attempted to punch the doorman.

No injuries were sustained during the incident. 

Police Constable Shaun Fewell, of Dorset Police, said: “We take all reports of hate crime very seriously and have been exploring all lines of enquiry in relation to this incident.

“We are now in a position to release an image of a man we are looking to identify as part of our enquiries and I would urge anyone who recognises him to please contact us.”
