Nine arrests as part of organised crime investigation

Eight people were arrested on Wednesday 21 January and one person was arrested on Thursday 22 January 2026 as part of a South West Regional Organised Crime Unit (SWROCU) investigation into serious and organised crime.

Supported by officers from Dorset Police, six men in their 20s, a man in his 40s, a man in his 60s and a woman in her 20s have been arrested in Bournemouth.

They have all been arrested on suspicion of participating in the activities of an organised crime group, money laundering and drugs-related offences.

Officers have seized large quantities of cash, commercial quantities of cocaine and cannabis, weapons, high-value vehicles, luxury goods and jewellery.

A number of premises in Bournemouth are continuing to be searched as part of the investigation.

DCI Adam Smith from SWROCU said: “This operation involved extensive resources from both SWROCU and Dorset Police and has resulted in nine suspects being taken into custody.

“Targeting those involved in drugs supply into and across our region is a priority for our Unit and our regional forces and we always encourage anyone with any information about those involved to report it.”

Detective Superintendent Emma Sweetzer, of Dorset Police, said: “We are committed to supporting our partners at SWROCU to tackle reported drug supply in our county.

“We know the significant impact that drugs can have on our local communities and we will continue to do all we can to relentlessly pursue anyone suspected of being involved in this type of activity.”
