Further investigation update following death of man in Bournemouth

Detectives have concluded their investigation into the circumstances of the death of a man in Bournemouth.

Dorset Police received a report at 8.07pm on Friday 28 February 2025 of the sudden death of a man aged in his 60s at an address in Redhill Avenue.

Enquiries were carried out into the circumstances of the death and, as part of the investigation, a 47-year-old man from Bournemouth was arrested on suspicion of murder and subsequently released under investigation.

The arrest was made to assist officers with obtaining as much information as possible, while providing legal protection to the individual involved.

Following an extensive investigation, which has included detailed toxicological and pathological submissions a cause of death was established which has led to the conclusion of the criminal investigation. The arrested man has been released from under investigation and will face no further police action.

The deceased man’s next of kin has been kept fully updated with developments throughout the investigation and our thoughts remain with his loved ones at this difficult time.
