Officers are issuing a CCTV image of a man they would like to identify following an assault and criminal damage in Poole.

At around 1.05am on Sunday 28 December 2025, a man attempted to steal alcohol from the Esso petrol station in Blandford Road. The shop worker prevented the man from leaving and he became angry and shouted abuse.

The offender subsequently threw a crate of beer at the member of staff, which thankfully did not make contact with them, and kicked the door causing the glass to shatter.

He left in possession of a quantity of alcohol.

Police Constable Sam Prince, of Poole police, said: “As part of our investigation into this incident, I am now issuing an image of a man I would like to identify.

“I would ask anyone who recognises him to please come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police online or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55250189590. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online using its website or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
