Witness appeal following reported affray in Bournemouth

Officers are issuing an appeal for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward as they investigate a reported affray in Bournemouth.

Dorset Police received a report at around 7.40am on Saturday 24 June 2023 of an altercation involving two men in the area of the Central Car Park in Upper Hinton Road. It was reported that one of the men was in possession of a bladed article.

Officers attended and two men were detained in connection with the incident. A 62-year-old Bournemouth man was arrested on suspicion of affray and possessing a bladed article in a public place and a 29-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of affray.

Both men have been released on police bail as enquiries continue.

Police Constable Ellie Saunders, of Bournemouth police, said: “Our investigation into this incident remains ongoing and I am keen to hear from any witnesses who have not already spoken to police.

“I would also like to speak to anyone who may have captured any relevant dashcam or mobile phone footage.”
