Update to CCTV appeal following reported assault in Bournemouth

Officers are issuing an update following a CCTV appeal in relation to a reported assault in Bournemouth.

It is reported that at around 6am on Sunday 28 September 2025, a woman aged in her 20s was walking in Holdenhurst Road when she had an interaction with a group of people who verbally abused her. One of the men in the group allegedly stole the victim’s glasses and stamped on them.

During the incident, it is reported that liquid was poured over the victim’s head and at one stage the victim fell to the floor, sustaining minor injuries.

On Thursday 9 October 2025, a CCTV appeal was issued of two men we were looking to identify.

One of the men – a black man pictured in a black Nike hooded sweatshirt – came forward to help us establish what happened. We would like to thank him for coming forward and clarify that he is being treated as a witness and no longer part of our enquiries.

The second man – a white man pictured in a black T-shirt – has been identified and is continuing to assist with our enquiries.
