Witness and dashcam appeal following serious injury collision in Bournemouth
Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward following a serious injury road traffic collision in Bournemouth.
At approximately 6.20pm on Monday 12 February 2024, a collision occurred involving a white Volkswagen cc Coupe and a cyclist in Christchurch Road at the junction with Waltham Road.
The cyclist – a Bournemouth man aged in his 30s – sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
The male driver of the Volkswagen was uninjured.
Road closures were in place to allow emergency services to safely treat the injured man and carry out an examination of the scene.
Police Constable Steve Eastwood, of the traffic unit, said: “We are conducting a full investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
“I am appealing for any witnesses to the collision who have not already spoken with officers to please come forward.
“Also, I am keen to hear from anyone who has a dashcam fitted to their vehicle and was in the area at the time to check whether they may have captured anything of relevance to assist our investigation.
“Finally, I would like to thank motorists for their patience and understanding during the road closure.”
