Witness appeal after reported assault in Poole

Officers investigating an alleged assault in Poole are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to get in touch.

It is reported that at around 7.45pm on Monday 22 May 2023 the victim – a woman aged in her 20s from Poole – was approached by an unknown man in Seldown Road near to the junction with Seldown Lane.

The man allegedly grabbed the victim by her shoulders, before she managed to push him off. He ran away in the direction the town centre.

Officers attended and an 18-year-old man from Poole was arrested on suspicion of assault. He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Police Constable Sophia Winborn, of Poole police, said: “I am really keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed what happened.”
