Appeal for information following burglary in Bournemouth

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward following a burglary at an address in Bournemouth.

Between 11am and 11.30am on Wednesday 26 August 2026, a residential address in The Grove was broken into.

Damage was caused to a patio door, but it is not believed that anything was stolen.

It was reported that a man was seen acting suspiciously outside the address prior to the burglary taking place.

He is described as white and of big build and was wearing a green top, flat cap and blue disposable face mask.

Police Constable Antony Brooks, of Dorset Police, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into this incident and are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.

“I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity or a man matching the description given in the area on the morning of Wednesday 26 August 2026.

“Also, I would ask residents to check their home CCTV footage for anything may help us identify who was responsible.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police online or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55260133582. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online using its website or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
