Appeal for witnesses following serious injury road traffic collision in Bournemouth

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward following a serious injury road traffic collision in Bournemouth.

Dorset Police received a report at 11.57am on Friday 7 March 2025 of a road traffic collision involving a grey Renault Captur and black Lexmark motorcycle on Talbot Road in Bournemouth.

Officers have attended alongside the ambulance service and the motorcyclist, a 19-year-old man from Poole, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. His next of kin has been informed.

Road closures remain in place while investigative work is carried out at the scene.

Police Sergeant Mike Gatfield, of the Traffic Department, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into this collision to establish the full circumstances and I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please make contact with us.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who was driving in the area and may have seen the vehicle before the incident or captured relevant dashcam footage.

“Road closures have been put in place to allow the emergency services to respond to this incident and I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding.”
