Appeal for information following burglary in Bournemouth
Officers are appealing for anyone with information to come forward as they continue to investigate a burglary at a home in Bournemouth.
Between 3am and 4am on Tuesday 27 June 2023 the offender gained entry to an address in Grantham Road and entered the bedroom where the occupants – a woman and two children – were asleep.
They stole a backpack containing a number of items including a blue Nintendo Switch Lite and a pink Samsung S22 mobile phone, as well as a blue tea tin that contained a quantity of cash.
Police Constable Islay Feltham, of Dorset Police, said: “This burglary has understandably had a distressing impact on the family involved and the children are particularly keen to be reunited with the items that were stolen.
“We are continuing to explore a number of lines of enquiry in relation to this incident and I am now in a position to appeal to the public for anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area, or who has come across items matching those detailed above in suspicious circumstances, to please contact us.
“From our enquiries, we understand the offender entered the property through a window that had been left open during the hot weather. I would urge people to make sure their windows are secure, particularly during the night when they are asleep, so their property does not become an easy target for opportunistic burglars.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55230100287. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
