Update – arrest in connection with reported serious assault in Christchurch

A man has been arrested in connection with an alleged serious assault in Christchurch.

Dorset Police received a report at 4.51pm on Thursday 8 December 2022 that a man had sustained a suspected stab wound following an altercation in Fairmile Road.

The man, aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries. He has since left hospital.

Following extensive enquiries by detectives from Bournemouth CID, a 29-year-old man from Bournemouth was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent, possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and robbery. He has been released on police bail as detectives carry out further enquiries.
