Appeal following commercial burglary in Weymouth

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward following a commercial burglary in Weymouth.

It is reported that between 2.40am and 6am on Thursday 1 January 2026, a man wearing a balaclava gained entry to an arcade on The Esplanade.

Damage was caused to 16 machines inside the arcade and approximately £4,000 in cash was stolen from the premises as well as damage with an estimated value of £10,000 caused.

Police Constable Aaron Strange, of Weymouth police, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into this break-in and I am appealing to anyone with information to please come forward.

“I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity along the seafront in the early hours of Thursday 1 January 2026, or captured any relevant CCTV or dashcam footage from the areas of Brunswick Terrace, Greenhill or Lennox Street.”
