Assault in Weymouth – witness appeal

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward after a man was assaulted in Weymouth.

Dorset Police received a report at 10.22pm on Thursday 16 May 2024 that a man had been assaulted outside Tesco Express in St Thomas Street.

The victim – aged in his 30s – sustained facial injuries that are not believed to be serious.

The offender was part of a group and they made off into School Street following the incident.

Police Constable Renée Marquis, of Weymouth police, said: “I understand there may have been a number of people in the area at the time and I would ask any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please get in touch.

“I would also urge anyone with information about who was responsible to please come forward.”
