Renewed appeal following fail-to-stop road traffic collision in Upton

Officers are issuing a renewed appeal for information as they continue to investigate a fail-to-stop road traffic collision in Upton.

Dorset Police received a report at 10.35am on Sunday 29 March 2026 of a road traffic collision involving a blue VW Polo and a pedestrian on the A350 Upton bypass.

It was reported the driver of the car failed to stop at the scene.

Officers attended alongside the ambulance service and a road closure was put in place.

The pedestrian, a man aged in his 40s, was taken to hospital with injuries believed to be serious but not life-threatening or life-changing.

Detective Constable Fiona Napier, of Dorset Police, said: “We have been carrying out enquiries into this collision and to locate the driver of the car.

“We are continuing to appeal to witnesses or anyone with information to come forward and are also urging anyone travelling in the area of Dorchester Road, Blandford Road or Poole Road to please check their dashcams for any footage of a blue VW Polo.

“I would also like to make another plea to the driver to please do the right thing and come forward so we can take your account of what happened.”
