Witness appeal following report of assault in Poole

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward following a report of an assault in Poole.

It was reported that between 10.45pm and 11pm on Friday 9 May 2025 a woman was assaulted by a man who was known to her in the area of Western Road and Martello Road South.

Officers attended and located the woman involved. She was spoken to and did not require immediate medical assistance.

Following enquiries, a 20-year-old Poole man was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He has been released on police bail as further enquiries are carried out.

Police Staff Investigator Ellen Gough, of Dorset Police, said: “Our investigation remains ongoing, and I am keen to hear from any witnesses or anyone with information that might assist our enquiries.

“We understand several vehicles were in the area at the time and some of these may have stopped and spoken to the victim. We would be keen to hear from any of the occupants of these vehicles as well as any motorists with relevant dashcam footage.”
