Witness appeal following suspicious fire in Christchurch area

Detectives are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward following a suspicious fire in the Christchurch area.

Dorset Police received a report at 12.04am on Friday 12 June 2026 of a fire at a property in Salisbury Road in Burton. It was reported by the fire service that the circumstances of the fire were believed to be suspicious.

Officers attended the scene and are continuing to liaise with the fire service as enquiries are carried out to establish the cause of the fire.

Detective Constable Neil Causebrook, of BCP CID, said: “Our investigation into this incident remains ongoing and I would urge anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area around the relevant time to please contact us.

“I would also like to hear from any residents with relevant home CCTV or doorbell camera footage, as well as any motorists who may have dashcam footage that could assist our enquiries.”
