Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward following criminal damage to vehicles near Dorchester.

During the evening of Monday 15 September 2025, there were four reports of damage caused to vehicles travelling on Church Hill in Piddlehinton.

It is reported that the damage was caused by a large rock that was thrown from nearby bushes.

Police Constable Glen Caddy, of Dorchester Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “This behaviour is extremely reckless and can cause a road traffic collision to occur, resulting in potentially serious or tragic consequences.

“Thankfully, in these four incidents nobody was injured. However, one of the vehicles was hit extremely close to the passenger window, causing it to smash with a person inside.

“I am appealing to anyone who has information about who was responsible, or saw suspicious activity at the side of the road, to please come forward.

“Similarly, if you have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage, please get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police online or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55250137828. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online using its website or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
