Witness appeal following alleged serious assault in Bournemouth

Detectives are continuing to investigate an alleged serious assault in Bournemouth and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

At approximately 4.15am on Sunday 16 August 2026 it is reported that a man sustained stab wounds following an assault by a woman in Old Christchurch Road.

The victim – aged in his 50s from London – was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that are described as serious but not life-threatening.

Following enquiries, a 40-year-old woman from Poole was arrested and subsequently charged with wounding with intent. She appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Monday 17 August 2026.

Detective Constable Hannah Duell, of BCP CID, said: “I have reviewed CCTV footage and understand there were people in the area who witnessed what happened.

“In particular, I am keen to speak to a man who was wearing a light blue top, dark-coloured shorts and white trainers who was in Sams Chicken prior to the incident.

“Also, I would like to appeal to a man in a white shirt, black tie and dark-coloured trousers who reported the incident to a nearby security guard before leaving the area to please come forward.

“I am also keen to hear from anyone else who was in the area and may have seen what happened.”
