Witness appeal as detectives investigate robbery at Poole store

Detectives investigating a robbery at a convenience store in Poole are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Dorset Police received a report at 11.40am on Sunday 11 June 2023 that a man had entered the Lotus Convenience Store in The Parade and had made threats to a member of staff before stealing a quantity of cash from the till.

The offender is described as around five feet three inches tall and with a large stomach and was wearing a black balaclava.

Detective Constable Thomas Norman, of Bournemouth CID, said: “This was a very distressing incident for the staff member to have experienced and we have launched a full investigation to identify the man responsible.

“Detectives are carrying out a range of enquiries and I would urge anyone who was in the area and witnessed any suspicious activity to please contact us.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who may have captured any relevant mobile phone, home CCTV or dashcam footage.”
