Fatal road traffic collision in North Dorset – witness and dashcam appeal
Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward following a fatal road traffic collision in North Dorset.
Dorset Police received a report at 9.27am on Tuesday 22 July 2025 of a single-vehicle collision involving a grey BMW on the A357 Cook’s Lane near Spire Hill Farm in the Stalbridge area.
Very sadly, the driver of the BMW, a man aged in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed.
Road closures are in place to allow emergency services to safely deal with the incident and carry out an examination of the scene.
Police Sergeant Dave Cotterill, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “Our thoughts are very much with the family and friends of the man who sadly died in this collision.
“I am appealing for any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please come forward.
“Also, I am keen to speak to any motorists who captured footage of the incident, or the moments leading up to it, on a dashcam.
“Finally, I would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding while the road closures are in place.”
