Information appeal following distraction burglary in Bournemouth

Officers investigating a distraction burglary in Bournemouth are appealing for information and issuing a warning to the public.

At around 11am on Thursday 10 July 2025, a man attended a property in Queens Park West Drive claiming to be from a water company to look at pipes that caused a flood risk.

The victim accompanied the man into the kitchen and stayed with him until he left the property.

Later that afternoon at around 2pm, the victim realised that documentation, cash and jewellery had been stolen from an upstairs bedroom.

The man is described as white, aged in his 40s and tall.

Police Constable Ryan Greenwell, of the Neighbourhood Crime Team, said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have seen or heard suspicious activity in the area around the relevant time to please get in touch.

“I would also like to remind people to not be afraid to ask questions about anyone at your door – genuine callers won’t mind.”
