Witness appeal following reported assault in Bournemouth

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward following a reported assault in Bournemouth.

At around 2am on Sunday 22 June 2025 the victim – a man aged in his 30s from Bournemouth – was walking with another man along Undercliff Drive close to the Harry Ramsden’s fish and chip shop when he was approached by a group of four men.

It is reported that one of the men punched the victim in the face, causing him to fall to the ground, before three of the men chased the other man to Aruba Bar where he raised concerns with the door supervisors.

Officers attended the incident and the four men – a 25 and 27-year-old from Hayes and a 21 and 26-year-old man from Southall in West London – were arrested on suspicion of assault offences. They have been released on police bail as the investigation continues.

The victim attended hospital for treatment to chest and facial injuries.

Police Constable Sorrel Gilbert, of Bournemouth police, said: “We are continuing to make enquiries into this reported assault to understand the full circumstances of what happened.

“We know that there were a lot of people in the area at the time and I am appealing to anyone who saw what happened to please come forward.”
