Officers are investigating an assault in a shop in Boscombe and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to contact police.

At 5.36pm on Thursday 11 June 2026, Dorset Police received a report of a disturbance at Lidl within the Sovereign Centre in Christchurch Road.

Two men had been challenged by a member of staff for their suspicious behaviour in the till area before one of them threw a food can at the staff member, who fortunately did not sustain any injuries.

It was further reported that the suspects then racially abused another member of staff before shouting a threat at another and then leaving the store.

Police Constable Shaun Fewell, of Dorset Police, said: “Following initial enquiries, we are now in a position to issue an image of two men we would like to identify.

“I am appealing for anyone with information about their identity to please contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police online or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55260086686. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online using its website or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
