Detectives continuing to investigate a report of kidnap in Bournemouth have identified the victim and can confirm he is safe – with one further arrest made.

Dorset Police received a third-party report on Friday 28 April 2023 of a possible kidnap that occurred at around 9.25pm in South Kinson Drive.

It is reported that a group of men were seen leaving a property while carrying another man, who was put into a car before being driven away. The car is described as black and similar to an Audi A4.

Following enquiries, the victim has been identified and spoken to by officers.

On Thursday 4 May 2023, a 44-year-old woman from Bournemouth has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to kidnap.

A 38-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man, both from Bournemouth, a 19-year-old man from the Greater Manchester area and a 21-year-old woman from the Wareham area who were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to kidnap remain in police custody.

A 32-year-old woman from Bournemouth was also arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to kidnap and remains released on police bail while enquiries continue.

Detective Inspector Neil Third, of the Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIT), said: “Following detailed enquiries, we have now been able to establish the identity of the victim and can confirm he is safe.

“As the investigation continues, I am still keen to hear from anyone with information that may assist our enquiries.

“There will continue to be an increased police presence in the area and I would encourage anyone with information or concerns to speak to the local neighbourhood policing team.”
