Appeal for witnesses following assault in Poole
Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant information to come forward following an assault in Poole.
At around 11.30am on Sunday 24 August 2025 officers received a report from a third party that a woman was assaulted while walking along the underpass between Vanguard Road and Serpentine Lane.
It was reported that the victim – a local woman aged in her 30s – was walking past a man who then thrust a screwdriver into her hip before placing it back in his pocket. He then walked off in the direction of the Holes Bay area.
Fortunately, the victim did not suffer any serious injury.
The man is described as white, six feet two inches tall and of slim build, with blonde, shoulder-length hair. He was wearing a baseball cap, dark-blue jeans, and a cream-coloured T-shirt.
Police Constable Reuben Wilkinson, of Poole police, said: “We are investigating this incident, and we are keen to hear from any witnesses who saw what happened.
“We are also keen to hear from a woman walking in close proximity to the man at the time the incident took place and would ask her to please come forward should she see this appeal. She is described by the victim as white, five feet three inches tall, with dark-coloured hair pulled back in a bun. She was wearing a black vest top and black, cycling-style shorts.
“I would also ask any motorists driving in the area at the time with dashcam fitted to please review their footage to see if they have captured footage of the suspect.”
