Appeal for witnesses following reported affray in Bournemouth
Detectives are issuing an appeal for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward as they investigate a reported affray in Bournemouth.
Dorset Police received a report at around 3.20pm on Sunday 27 October 2024 of an altercation involving a large group of young people at the Slades Farm playing fields.
It is reported that the victim – a teenage boy – was punched to the ground by one of the group before he was repeatedly kicked by the rest of the group.
It was further reported that two of the group were in possession of a knife and an imitation firearm and made threats to members of the public in the area.
Officers attended the incident and following enquiries, a 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy – both from Bournemouth – were arrested on suspicion of assault, affray and weapons offences. They have been released on police bail as officers continue their investigation.
Detective Constable Ryan Higgins, of Bournemouth CID, said: “Our investigation into this incident remains ongoing. I understand that there were a number of witnesses at the scene who may have seen what happened, so I am keen to hear from anyone who has not already spoken to police.
“I would also like to speak to anyone who may have captured any relevant dashcam, home CCTV or mobile phone footage.”
