Renewed appeal following burglary in Bridport

Officers are renewing their appeal for information in relation to a burglary in Bridport as they seek to trace a vehicle that was reportedly in the area.

Between approximately 8.30am on Saturday 9 September and 2pm on Sunday 10 September 2023 entry was gained to a property in the area of Lee Lane and several items of jewellery were stolen.

Police Constable Tim Sturgess, of Bridport police, said: “These items of jewellery were of great sentimental value to the victim and we are continuing to explore all available lines of enquiry to identify those responsible for this burglary.

“I am now appealing to the public for anyone who witnessed a silver Ford Mondeo saloon in the area of Lee Lane, King Charles Way or Jessop Avenue, as well as the surrounding area, between 1.30pm and 2.30pm on Saturday 9th September 2023 to please contact us. The vehicle is a third generation Ford Mondeo, of the type produced between 2006 and 2012, although the registration plate may not necessarily reflect this.

“I would also like to speak to anyone who may have captured relevant dashcam, doorbell camera or CCTV footage of this vehicle, which may have been parked up in the area around the relevant timeframe.

“Furthermore, I am continuing to appeal to anyone with further information regarding this burglary to please get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55230143660. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
